Arctic Thunder is Elmendorf Air Force Base's open house and air show. Historically, Arctic Thunder has been the largest two-day event in Alaska.
The base hosts Arctic Thunder to demonstrate its appreciation to the Alaska community for its support of the military, to educate the public about the military's mission, and to recruit people interested in joining the service.
Thank you to the estimated 169,000 people who came out to Elmendorf for the concert and air show in 2008. The next Arctic Thunder is scheduled for the summer of 2010. The dates will be released and posted here in January 2010.
